Rust & Corrosion Repair

Rust and corrosion treated and stopped before it spreads further into the bodywork.

Rust does not stay where it starts. Once corrosion breaks through paint and primer, moisture keeps working on the exposed metal underneath, and the damaged area grows, often from the inside of a panel outward, so it looks worse than expected once it is opened up. Treating it early is always cheaper than treating it late.

We start by identifying how far the corrosion has spread, which is not always obvious from the surface. Bubbling paint, small blisters near seams, wheel arches, and sills are the common early signs. The affected area is opened up, all rust and compromised metal is removed back to sound metal, and the area is properly treated before any filler or panel work begins.

Once the metal is clean and sound, we apply the correct rust-inhibiting primer and rebuild the panel properly, whether that means filler, a patch panel, or a full section replacement depending on how far the damage goes. Skipping proper metal treatment and just filling over corrosion is how the rust comes straight back within a year or two.

The final stage is colour-matched paint application and blending, finished to the same standard as our regular bodywork. Where corrosion is caught early, before it perforates the panel, the repair is often more straightforward and considerably cheaper than a case that has spread for years.
